Fake news is just a term some use for news that hasn't been proven. Often no more than malicious rumours. The current UK PM may (hah) end up being pushed as Thatcher eventually was. But nobody KNOWS what her agenda might be, or how much control she really has over what happens in any case.

Sadly we are way too much media led these days. 'Fake' or otherwise.

She does not have a majority without bribing with £1 billion of British tax payers money, yours and mine, the anti gay, anti abortion even for rape victims, climate change denying, creationists to support her.

The DUP received 292,316 votes out of the 30 million or so votes cast throughout the UK yet May has given them ultimate power over what happens in the whole of the UK.

She might not intend to resign but she is weakened after the election and might be pushed. A lot of powerful people don't think the "hard" Brexit she is committed to would be good for the UK.

It's not fake-news, they reported how others called for her resignation, how someone leaked that she was unsure how to deal with fumbling her election, and now they have a source, all actual news.
