What's a movie you like but the critics aren't fond of?

Pet Cemetery scared the bejesus out of me, but the critics only gave it one star. And The Patriot with Mel Gibson only got two stars from the critics.

Lots of genre films. Critics tend to be a bit harsher on movies like horror films or action flicks.

If I had to go into specifics, I'd say I quite liked the first three entries in the "Saw" series and thought they were pretty well-done. (The later films weren't quite as good, but I honestly didn't mind them either.)

The "Underworld" and "Resident Evil" movies are dumb and all got trashed, but they're guilty pleasures for me. (I know they're bad... But I think they're a lot of fun.)

"Return to Oz" also comes to mind. It got torn apart by critics due to it's dark and aggressive tone, but I think it's an 80's classic right up there with "Dark Crystal" and "Labyrinth."

The Net with Sandra Bullock but I love anything about computer programming and hacking. I watched it twice though it was not really praised. I think it was considered fair but for me it was enjoyable and suspenseful.

I actually thought SIGNS, was pretty good..........even though some count it as one of Shaymalan's worst.

No, his earlier films were good, and he didn't really go wrong until The Village, and The Happening.........but some think Signs was just as bad.

I disagree. I still think Signs was worthy........but yeah, after that he went straight downhill into the crapper, with Lady in the Water and then the Last Air Bender, and he was credited as writer on "After Earth"........a movie with virtually NO PLOT.

I'm surprised anyone still hires him at all after that movie.
