What can I use as proof of address to open a bank account in Ireland?

Update:

Even a letter from the employer is not valid to open a bank account. When you're new in the country, you don't have utility bills on your name (people share houses and apartments!!!).

Has anyone had this problem in Ireland? Any idea on how to solve that?!

If you are employed, you will have had to register for tax and will have been allocated a PPS number. Get Revenue (the Income Tax people) to send it to you by mail. The banks will accept anything official which could have only reached you by mail as proof of address, and anything from Revenue is about as official as you can get.

A letter from your employer or licensed employment agency stating that you have recently arrived in Ireland and have started work but cannot yet provide evidence of your Irish address (you will have to provide evidence of your address at a later date).

Utility bill showing your name and that address usually.

Rent book? Council Tax? Local Authority?

You MUST be registered with someone.
