Calculus HOMEWORK Limits?

I am having trouble solving this problem with all these Limit Laws

Problem: lim as x approaches 1 (no subscript) (-2x + 5)

does that equal to = lim as x approaches 1 f(-2x) + lim as x approches 1 g(+5) or am I wrong?

Someone please explain! I am not telling you to do it for me but just explain so I can do the rest by myself!
