Can someone advice me on bipolar and mood swings?

I think I many have Bipolar but im not quite sure, I have suffered with depression all my life since I can remember and had very bad mood swings, one day im so low I cant leave the house the next I want to take on the world and could kill anyone that tries to stop me!

I have an obsession with spending money I have over 200 or more pairs of shoes what most haven't been worn, I get ideas im my head constantly of what im going to do to make money or occupy my mind and it never happens...this started with glass painting spent loads of money but never done anything with it, went onto wood burning, jewellery making, knitting, crotchet, card making etc, I now have a spare room filled with things that haven't been used but I cant sell!

if im on a high I fly off the handle very easily and have even assaulted people before, one minute I love being me the next I hate being me and have self harmed quite bad in the past stabbing myself threw the leg three times, taking an overdose three times, and cutting my wrists four times and im left with some horrendous scares.

the thoughts that go threw my head are horrendous and some have no significance to anything really other than they don't stop and I never can sleep! I often have little motivation, and don't want to get dressed.

I can txt a friend and if they don't reply I get even worse thinking there is something going on and then I kickoff with them, I have lost many friends lately do to my behaviour, but one minute I don't care, the next im very tearful! I have been to my doctors as my mood swings are getting worse atm and she thinks it could be OCD?

I really don't no what it is that's going on but I feel like im loosing the plot, alchohol makes me feel much better but I hit a wall the next day!

the only thing I don't think I might be bipolar is my sex drive I have read some people with bipolar need sex or to masturbate many times in one day!!

Im so frustrated with the way I am feeling but I feel if I don't get something sorted soon I am going to loose everything and everyone :(

    Check out http://www.wikihow.com/Special:GoogSearch?cx=00895...

Use the relaxation methods at http://altmedicine.about.com/cs/mindbody/a/Meditat...

or www.wikihow.com/Meditate They will enable you to emotionally centre yourself, when practiced regularly, and can also help you become a person who is less influenced by the words and behaviour of others. Learn them at least a few hours apart, and preferably on different days, in the morning, or early afternoon. Use the one you find most effective. A minimum of 10 mns is recommended; 15 is better, and 20 is ideally preferred.

Hypnosis is merely a heightened state of suggestibility, in which you are better able to communicate with your subconscious mind; view http://myfavoriteinterests.com/hypnosis/ about what it is, and isn't.

85% of people are suggestible to some degree; 15% - 20% highly so, and 15% - 20% aren't much at all, so you could either preferably seek professional hypnotherapy, or, if not an option, hypnosisdownloads.com has ones about controlling your emotions. Professional advice is to use preferably only 1, or a maximum of 2 at any one time.

Consult a clinical psychologist for a diagnosis, but the only kind of bipolar disorder it could be is rapid cycling bipolar disorder, which is uncommon.

That's very doubtful that you have a bi-polar condition. There is a distinct difference when people have a mental abnormality and this remains unseen to the person, since a larger part of this would be unconscious. Counseling would be a good place to start, as you will learn eventually there is a pathology which came from a familial pattern and most likely your father. Mood swings seem to vibrate in a personal adventure when things don't congratulate one personally, in a moment of frustration. Seeking a venting existence sometimes requires several types of material gatherings for only to see another frustrating climax. In counseling a common approach to good therapy is to "get rid of the garbage" mentally!
