Because he didn't break any laws, and because he is repaying the money anyway to remove or pre-empt any doubt of impropriety. There is no real story for the media to cover, let alone hype.

a) I hasn't. In fact, that was all over the news, particularly in Virginia.
b) It is old news. That issue was resolved weeks, if not months ago.
So, it's old news. Time to move on. Weiner's recidivism is current. And is of a subject matter that the Honey Boo Boo public enjoys. Press, you know, is a business.

The media doesn't give a fk. They will focus on c0cks, t1tties, blowjobs, and affairs because that's what the ignorant masses driving the ratings (and advertising) will click and watch by and large.
BLAME YOUR FELLOW CITIZENS.

I've seen a decent amount of coverage about McDonnell's corruption. If "the media" ignored it, you wouldn't have ever heard about it.
