What country does your surname originate from?

My surname is of African origin, but I have looked on genealogy websites and found census of people who were Native American, European and middle eastern aswell as African having my surname. Weird or what!!

Update:

@Noelle: it was a site called ancestry.co.uk but it's not entirely free..

Definitely Scottish. My name is from one of the most famous Scottish clans.

In fact...my forename, middle name AND surname is 100% Scottish. LOL :D

I'm a true Scottie, through and through!

My surname is Norwegian, I'm Norwegian, I live in Norway.. Cool or what? ..

What's cool though, is that no one else than the ones who's in our family by blood owns that surname.(in the world - wooaah)

Because it's uncommon, lol. last time we checked there were about a few over or under 100 with that name in norway and other places in the world, where they emigrated to.
