The introduction of Nvdia's new 7xx cards changes the best picks somewhat.
At $200 your best choice is either a GeForce GTX 660 or Radeon HD 7870. Which is faster depends upon the specific game title being played, so consider which games you play most when picking between them. In Arma II, Skyrim, Far Cry 3 or Metro the Radeon HD 7870 is faster. In Crysis 3, Borderlands 2, Batman Arkham City or Total War Shogun 2, the GTX 660 is faster.
The new GeForce GTX 760 sells for $250 and beats older $300 cards like the Radeon HD 7950 and GeForce GTX 660 Ti.
The GTX 770 is the best card at $400, outperforming the more expensive GTX 680 and HD 7970.

For your budget: Dont even think of considering AMD cards. For any budget over 250, NVIDIA is better. For your budget, if your motherboard supports SLI, and you have at least a 750-800watt power supply, 2 GTX 760's in SLI would get you the performance of a GTX TITAN (1000 dollars) for half the price. Easily expect that to max out games for at least 3-4 years. If you can only get a single GPU, get a 4GB Overclocked GTX 770. One of the best single GPUs for the money. Better than last gen's 680 at 200 dollars less!
(I plan on buying a 4gb OC'd GTX 770 soon, and around christmas time buying another and SLI'ing them.)Source(s): Research, Experience, Personal Knowledge

i recommend to get 2 660 ti and put them in sli, they will be more powerful then a titan (a $1000 graphics card) for less than half the price. but if you dont want to deal with the headaches of sli i would go for a 7970. hope this helped

You can get a GTX 770 is a good high end in your GPU budget. Get it with 2GB VRAM at GDDR5.

do not buy the gtx, the best for your money will be either 7950 or 7970. they are both great cards and faster than most nvidia cards
