If someone has "A" blood type then how can we know his exact blood type genotype?

I mean his genotype could be AO or AA. I hope there is a kit or antigen that tells us his blood type genotype.

Update:

Please no smart comments. I appreciate your help a lot.

Cross him with females who are type O. If any of his progeny are also type O, then you know he's haterozygous AO.

The person above is correct. But, I guess that there would be about half the concentration of the antigen, but that is just a guess.
