Liberals are you profiting off this growing welfare system?
The scope of welfare is difficult to comprehend, but the amount of money spent by federal and state governments on social and health programs is plain as day. According to Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-Ala.), welfare spending between state and federal governments is up more than 30% since President Obama took office and topped $1 trillion in 2011, based on a study released last October.
We've definitely seen certain companies angling themselves to take advantage of the increasing government dollars flowing into welfare -- especially in the health-care sector. The passing of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (aka Obamacare) is going to bring upwards of 16 million newly insured low-income individuals and families under the umbrella of government-sponsored Medicaid, so insurers have been doing everything they can to get their slice of the pie. WellPoint (NYSE: WLP ) ponied up $4.5 billion to buy Amerigroup
and hurdle past UnitedHealth Group to become the nation's largest private Medicaid insurer. Aetna (NYSE: AET ) followed suit shortly thereafter in August with a $5.6 billion
purchase of Coventry Health Care, aimed, similarly, at gaining more Medicaid-based customers.

Our welfare system is not growing, and no, I'm not profiting off of what we have now. If anything, our welfare usage has been cut in half since the last time we reformed it:

I am not but am considering going on it so I won't have to work. I have anxiety and have not taken up laziness and prescription drug abuse (maybe drinking) because of my work schedule. Welfare and disability will allow me to stay home all day and do nothing. My goal in life is to live off the government for school was too stressful and I don't want to be married so I have no family obligations. All I have to do is describe what happened to me between the ages of 8 and 14 with school and my parents' divorce and I can life off disability and welfare.
By no means am I playing down mental health disabilities as they are very real. But, I am noting this because it is what I must use for disability as I do have anxiety and some PTSD from my parents' divorce and school. I learned in the 2000 presidential election from the father of my mother's boyfriend (the man was staunch conservative) that the government will pay lazy people to sit on their buttoms (he used the word that starts with an A and ends with S with another S in the middle). I am so greatful he taught me that for I didn't know it. He also taught me in one of his rants that since I lean Democrat I don't have to waste time soluting the flag or carrying about national security as all I need is that government check. He is still alive (though the boyfriend was arrested in a corporation scandal and I haven't seen him since) so the older man can pay for me to sit around all day.
I am so greatful for that man (now aged 86) who pays taxes so the government can take care of me. While his son may be a crook, he works hard and is honest so I can get money from him even though I no longer know him because his taxes come to me.

Obamacare is Romneycare:
It was written by the same guys who did Romneycare:
Republicans also originated the Individual Mandate:
Conservatives collect social benefits they claim to oppose:
Corporate Welfare spending higher than Social welfare:
"Koch brothers now at heart of GOP power"
"By funding numerous rightwing organisations, the mega-rich Koch brothers have duped millions into supporting big business"
"The Koch Brothers--the Corporate Welfare Kings"
Those profiting clearly aren't liberals.
So why would you think they are to ask if they are?

Unfortunately, the number of people on welfare increases during a recession.

Why don't we get some of the low wage employers (Walmart, McDonald's, etc) to chip in for the vast number of their employees who remain dependent on subsidies because their wages are incredibly low? Walmart advises their employees to apply for medicare and food stamps. Hello??

I'm not, but my younger brother is. He's profoundly autistic (he can't even use the toilet), and he receives a monthly stipend from the government to help my parents pay the bills involving him, like food, diapers, etc.

Yes. I invested in that Drug Testing company in Florida owned by Governor Rick Scott (R).

You're counting ALL programs for the retired, ALL health programs, and ALL programs that benefit the poor as "welfare." That's a pretty bogus definition.

Why do you buy Chinese goods thereby creating the need for welfare? How about bringing our jobs back and paying at or near union scale? No you say? Then pay your victims to not starve.

All you do is talk about welfare. You must have just got re-certified and its pissing you off to need help. That's really sad.
