Yes, it will run most games on high settings if your screen resolution is 1366x768, or medium settings at 1600x900. But its' not good for a 1920x1080 screen. It's a decent option, ranked #85 overall among laptop graphics cards.

Depends highly on the game, and the output resolution. I have a 630M and what I noticed about it is that the shaders are absolutely abysmal, I'm not sure whether or not the 640M is a huge improvement, but if you crank up all the settings, and turn shadows down or off, and reduce shaders, like reflections and lighting effects, and maintain the Anti-Aliasing at a reasonable amount (4MSAA) works fine with me on all games, then you should get 60 FPS on most games, assuming the resolution is 720p, If you want 1080p, then there's no way to get any game to run on that card.Source(s): Same card... Almost.

No, sorry it will not as it is a mobile gpu and not very good for games at all.8-((
Although that depends on which version of the 640m.
It also depends on the cpu and the amount of memory in the pc.
See here for some idea on how it will perform in different games :-

No, it'll probably run games on low-mid settings on low resolutions with decent FPS.
It's a mobile GPU; you shouldn't expect too much from it.
