can people become easily manipulated and indoctrinated in the jehovah's witness cult?
or is that the same for all christian organizations? they easily brainwash, manipulate, and indoctrinate their victims to the point of making them their slaves in a way.
im only asking because my father's uncle and his wife and children was in the jehovah's witness cult for 15 years, but they are out now (thank GOD). he was telling my father that he has come to the conclusion how its all bullshyt, manipulative, and unreasoning.
but they have also said there lives are much happier now, and you should see how they were shunned by the JW's.

It's pretty much the same in any religion/cult/belief system. Whether it's considered one or the other is usually a matter of how many followers they have.Source(s): .

That probably depends on whether you are sincerely looking for an answer to your question or whether you are seeking validation of your own cherished belief. From your question it sounds like you are already convinced that they are a cult comprised of slaves and that to leave means to give thanks to God. So if you are seeking validation, then the answer to your question would be yes since no other answer for you would do.
If you are sincerely seeking an answer, then the answer would be no. Jehovah's Witnesses are not a cult. They are not easily manipulated. Neither are they indoctrinated. Your relatives are out now. If that was their desire then all well and good. Your great uncle's conclusion was that it was all . . . manipulative and unreasoning. So your great uncle and his family are much happier now. Which means they were not happy as Jehovah's Witnesses. Then it is good that they left, yes? How does that translate to Jehovah's Witnesses being a cult of people who are easily manipulated?

One man created the Jehovah witness. Why would the name God gave to His people not be"Christians" since Acts 11:26 says, "The disciples were first called Christians in Antioch"? Why is the name "Jehovah's Witness" found nowhere in the New Testament, if that is God's divine name for His people under the new covenant? Why would God wait almost 2000 years to suddenly start using the name "Jehovah's Witness". Does this mean that first century Christians were not known as Jehovah's Witnesses"?
If Christians are persecuted for the sake of Jehovah's name, why did Christ tell the first Christians that they would be persecuted for the sake of his (Jesus') name instead of Jehovah's (Mt 24:9, Mk 13:13, Lk 21:12, 17, Jn 15:21, and Acts 9:16)?

Jehovah Witnesses are not Christians. Be very sure of that distinction. I know some of them say they are Christians but it's a misuse or a misunderstanding of the word. They don't even believe that Jesus is God, making it impossible for them to be Christians.

Yes indeed they can. Why? When a person is weak, for example, they seek comfort and love so they talk to someone about it. Word gets out and the cult finds out about it. They sniff out the weak ones b/c they are easier to indoctrinate. Control=Power. Power=Money

Did Jesus say that following him would be easy? You say brainwash isn't that what Satan does to unbelievers? Get them to think that what they have now is all they need? Maybe you haven't read the bible enough to know who's really brainwashed.
