Will the kindle fire hd 8.9" work in uk?

I was thinking about buying the wifi version from Amazon US when it releases however I'm not sure If it will allow me to connect to the Amazon UK store instead.

I assume you'll get the Wifi version of Kindle Fire HD 8.9", not the 4G version. 4G plan is only available in the US right now.
