Does a Tattoo Artist........?

Tattoo through a tansfer of the design?

Sketch the design on the skin with a marker pen first?

Or do they tattoo the design purely by eye, 'freehand' as such?

I've always fancied a SMALL cat (simple design) on my upper arm as I like cats :-)

Usually they draw it up and you can tell them to tweak it until you like it.

Then then transfer it onto your skin and tattoo over it.

However they can draw it on you free hand then tattoo it, or now ever draw it and start tattoo'ing free hand.

Its your tattoo you should be able to tell them what you want it to look like and how you want them to do it.

All three methods are usually used. some artist are more comfortable using one of the three methods regularly but usually during thier career all three ways will be used at some time or Another
