Orange generally provide a Netgear router, which is terrible for anything other than light traffic. However, if you do complain to customer service about the router and ask for a "Bright Box" instead, it is surprisingly good - despite being branded by Orange and no major router manufacturer.

I don't have much experience with other ISP routers. As a general rule of thumb, ask them what they intend to send you. Cisco routers are brilliant, TP Link are good, and Netgear are generally pretty bad.
