Standard contents cover usually includes them whilst in the house only. But there are some insurers who insist you take out extra cover for "personal possessions" as they do not class a mobile as a household content.

If you pay extra for personal possessions/all risks cover they will be covered outside the house too, but you may find mobile phones have to be insured under "specified personal possessions" on the policy and are not included within the definition of "unspecified personal possessions". And there will be several exclusions as there are in every policy.

Every insurance company is different. That is why it is important to speak to a broker to tell them exactly what cover you need and they can then source the best policy for you.

It all depends on the policy and the policy wording.

Most 'basic' policies will not and you would have have to get additional cover for mobile phone damage/theft.

If buying direct from an insurer ask them what the policy covers. Generally they should ask how much level of cover you require in £, again ask if specifics are covered e.g. TV's, Clothing, Damage to your heating etc etc. But again this will generally form part of the personal possessions section which may be at an additional cost. Most insurers will display on their websites a list of what is included for your premium.

If buying from a broker simply state that you require cover for your mobile phone(s) included in the premium and leave the rest to them. I would recommend you call brokers and that of insurers rather than completing forms online so that a full understanding of cover is obtained.

As it varies from policy to policy, company to company, etc. Talk to local insurance agent and just head over to a comparison site like http://homeinsurance.nightbirdssolutions.com/ or http://homeinsurance.nightbirdssolutions.com/quote... enter your details and you get a real price.

Varies from policy to policy. Check your own policy and/or ask a broker to ensure you have a suitable policy if you'd like your phone covered
