What equalizer settings does YouTube use?

When I listen to music on YouTube it sounds more clearer and sharp, however when i convert that song to a MP3 and save it to my PC the sound quality is much poorer.. Is it down to the equalizer making the highs and lows more effective?

i don't know about the youtube equalizer setting

but i know that: the sound quality depends on the video quality initially submitted by the user .

A video which is encoded with a high bit rate audio setting (i.e:320kbps), regardless its video aspect (HD or not), gives a good audio resonance ones converted and processed by Youtube.

When you grab video from Youtube you generally get an flv file which is a standardized and lightened format and relatively includes poor audio track.

to make you mp3's sound better, i suggest using an audio enhancing software/plugins like this one :

The first question, I don't know. As for the equalizer, yes it works but sometimes it makes it sound worse. Basically it just plays with the levels of bass and treble. It probably wouldn't make a noticeable different in something without music (aka the audiobooks, etc.)

YouTube does its own video/audio conversion. Sometimes you would like it, sometimes not. If you are highly concerned about the audio quality, you can now add an equalizer to fit the audio to your preferences -
