If I lived in the country, Teensy would be outside on 24/7 patrol for rodents and so would Taylor.....but alas, I live in a false city (memphis) and prefer for Teensy to be in the house. Taylor comes in some days, but he makes a b-line for the door when he wants out.....like 5 min. later. He house-trained himself (serious) and loves it outside where he can stretch those legs and snore as loud as he wants. I only allow him in the kitchen because he leaves dirt everywhere. lol!! One dog inside.one outside.
EDIT: Bunny Lady: Not every outside dog is mistreated. Not every inside dog is sleeping on golden sheets woven with a golden thread and diamonds either. I have an inside dog and outside dog. Neither are treated horribly. I notice EVERY scratch on both my dogs. Both get vet care/rabies shots. The best food they can tolerate (raw/scraps and/or kibble) they are spoiled. They have flea medication, the grass is cut every 2 days to keep too many bugs from hiding in it and mostly ticks away. Taylor has only had 1 tick on him in his lifetime (that was recently) and it was as small as a pin-head. It was pulled off then and there. The vet says my dogs ears are very clean, well-behaved and calm. Taylor/Teensy gets a walk in the morning and night. They both get ice in the summer in their water bowls, nails clipped, wormed every 2 months (both), grooming (sometimes, for an hour or more), baths (yes, my outside dog gets baths EVERY week), his teeth are pearly white because he always has a bone to chew. As a matter of fact, he has four rib bones outside. The faucet outside is always dripping to keep water in his bowl 24/7. Both are trained to walk on a leash at a heel, sit, stay, back up, out (meaning out of the house or shed), high five (both), twirl and any other little tricks and ob. techs I could teach them. Compared to many dogs around my neighborhood, my dogs are spoiled and loving it. If their kibble bucket gets low, I buy more before it runs out. They always get a once over everyday. My dogs go to the vet for their injuries, not sit in the backyard or house to rot and suffer. Teensy hurt her eye one day, vet!! I payed $165 to get Teensy spayed (medicine, spay, el. collar, etc.). Taylor had to be on antibiotics for a swollen jowl and he's going to be neutered next month. Did I mention, he is an outside dog? Oh, did I mention Taylor is house-trained. My mother let him stay in the house for 8 hours (I was spending time with my dad) and he just layed by the stove hoping food would jump into his mouth. I have NO problem with someone keeping an outside dog.
