    NO its not to late. You can do recreational ballet. And don't worry you won't be put in a class with younger kids and make a fool of yourself. They will put you in a class that is your own age range and own level they won't put you in a class with advanced or younger dancers.Do what you love :) Good Luck

    As a Ballet teacher I can tell you it is never too late. However you should be aware that you are going to have to work a LOT harder than if you had been able to start at a younger age.

    I would suggest looking up a teacher with the Cecchetti Counsel of America

    http://www.cecchetti.org/main.php?smPID=PHP::index...

    All of the teachers are highly trained and the teaching curriculum has been tested and proven for generations. I highly recommend trying to find a teacher with that organization than just enrolling in the nearest dance studio.

    No! It's never too late, unless you want to be professional.

    i'm sure your local studo has beginner teen or adult classes you could take:)

    Good luck!

    Actually, wait. I'm going to give you my big long talk about beginning ballet:)

    Hello Everyone!! There are a lot of girls and boys on yahoo answers, dance.net and other places that know nothing about ballet, but want to start.

    Well, that's what I'm here for! I have lots of links and tips that I, myself can give you:)

    Here are the links:

    Yep, lot's of links:):)

    Now, my advice is to not give up. Ballet is not twirling around in a frilly pink tutu. Ballet is all about hard work, discipline, sweat, blood, and tears:)

    Don't worry:) Now you might be like, "Why would I want to do ballet if it's like that? Why would anyone want to do it?"

    Listen to me RIGHT now! Haha just kidding:) Ballet is SOOOOOOOOOO much fun! It is! And when you get to pointe, it gets even more fun ( I"m going to post a whole issue about pointe soon)!

    So, work hard, and take corrections the right way. Don't thinkyour teacher doesn't like you because she is constantly saying, " Come on! Pull up in your center! Turnout! Pointe those feet!" She is saying it because she knows you can become a great dancer! She knows you have potential, and she knows you will work hard.

    So, don't be afraid to start ballet! Not only is it really fun, but it gets you up off the couch, and gives you great legs:)

    Good luck!!

    Its defiantly not to late! I started when I was 12, all my friends started when they were 4, and i was put straight into grade 5 because i had a natural ability! Now I'm on pointe and i'm so glad i started! You are never to old to dance!
