jumping speed of an average man?

what is the vertically upward jumping speed of an average man? is it independent of the gravitational acceleration of planet? what's the formula to derive it?

    I just answered this in your other question, but:

    To find v² I used the average vertical jump height of a man of about 18 inches, or 0.4572 meters.

    By conservation of energy:

    ½mv² = mgh

    v² = 2gh = 2*(9.8)*(0.4572) = 8.96112 m² / s²
