What does the reciprocity between Australia and New Zealand mean?

I mean regarding immigration, work, travel/visas

Can one move to live in the other country without going through immigration then ?

    You cannot enter the country without going through immigration!

    However you will not need to get a prior visa to visit, work, and live in either countries if you are a citizen of Australia or New Zealand. The visa will be issued on arrival without formalities.

    The Trans-Tasman Travel Arrangement is not really based on reciprocity. Australian permanent residents have the same rights in New Zealand than Australian citizens, New Zealand permanent residents are not covered in Australia and are subject to work and settlement visa requirements.
