Am I the only one that thinks James Franco in 127 Hours > Colin Firth in The King's Speech?
obviously Firth's performance was amazing, but I just think Franco was better. one of the best performances ever to me.
BQ- what percent chance does Franco have at upsetting and winning the Oscar?
BQ2- what were the 5 BEST performances of 2010?

Nah I'm totally with ya. You have to remember that Colin Firth was excellent but he had the great star power of Geoffrey Rush and Helena Bonham Carter supporting him. James Franco had to carry literally the entire film. THe whole's film's sucess and failure rested on his shoulders and he was phenomenal
BQ: 30%. Have my fingers crossed
BQ2: James Franco: 127 Hours
Colin Firth- The King's speech
Christian Bale: The Fighter
Hailee Streinfeld: True Grit
Leonardo Dicaprio: Shutter Island (very underrated preformance imo)

I'm sure you aren't. Franco was fantastic, but I personally don't think he was quite as good. Firth pulled off his role better than anyone could. Nothing negative about Franco, though.
BQ: Probably around 30%
BQ2:
1. Colin Firth [The King's Speech]
2. Jeff Bridges [True Grit]
3. Christian Bale [The Fighter]
4. Natalie Portman [Black Swan]
5. James Franco [127 Hours]

You're probably not alone...but I think Firth was phenomenal (so was Franco don't get me wrong) but his sppech impediment seemed so realistic which is what won me over. though Franco's fear was also compelling
BQ: 20-30%
BQ2: **I'm gonna try and see The Fighter if it's still in theaters this weekend if i can**
Colin Firth in The King's Speech
James Franco in 127 Hours
Natalie Portman in Black Swan

James Franco was amazing in 127 Hours. I read a interview with him about that movie.

I just think that the two roles are just so completely different that to compare the two directly would be inappropriate. Both are obviously talented actors. Each role called for different preparation.
The Oscars will probably go with... Firth. Just cause it's the Oscars. :-/

No your not Donny, 127 Hours is a better movie overall I just wasn't that impressed with Kings Speech as a concept and film but the acting was nothing short of amazing.

No not even close.
But I do think 127 Hours was a better movie than The Social Network though.
