AVG is one of the WORST free Anti-Virus programs. I think Avast is one of the best.

well i would say that avast is the worst free virus protection software

i would have to say that the best virus protection software would be avg and norton would be the very best but you only get a free trial from them

really any free virus protection software that is not a trial is going to tell you a lie to buy there product or is just going to infect malware in to your computer

but if you have comcast as your internet service then you can get norton suite for free

so really there is no free virus softwares that work

but that is why the real ones have free trials!!!!

Avast! has the best defense for opening files or traversing the internet.

Avira has the highest detection rate with few false positives, and detects really well when opening files or downloading them from the internet.

AVG has went down-hill I don't recommend them.

Personally I use Avast! as 5.0 has really made quite a few changes for better and faster scanning.

I recommend Avira if you know you're infected and need to remove the virus quickly.

Along with those, just for security purposes I recommend downloading MalwareBytes to see if avast/avira missed anything (which they will, no antivirus is 100%) and/or SuperAntiSpyware.

I always recommend Avast, Avira, MalwareBytes, and Microsoft Security Essentials.

AVG is not the best...no rootkit protection.....

Avast backed up with Malwarebytes anti-malware and Super anti-spyware are a good combination...have used these free products for 3 years....they all work well together...plus Avast is one of the top AV products.....see the report for yourself.....

Any free virus protection is the same as no protection at all. You really want someone who is working on virus problems, and those people don't work for free.

Nope, Avast @ Avast.com / Download.com is the best;) Well, its really really good. Everyone uses it. Just wait 'til you see more people put "Avast..", "try Avast"...
