Unfortunately, no. Jogging will burn fat from around the waist and stomach areas, but will not tone the muscles in the area. Core muscle work is one of the only ways to do this.

Core muscle work includes sit-ups, the bridge, the "plank" and the opposite arm/leg lift. These are the main ones that can be done at home. At your local gym, you may also find some other core work equipment. Examples include a weighted sit up machine (you do a sit up pushing against a weight) and leg raises.

If you are willing to pay the expense, you can by some ab work equipment for the home. I recently checked out a teleshopping channel (for some reason) and found two adverts for ab equipment. The disadvantage is the cost. Also, the claims are almost always exaggerated in an effort to persuade. Believe them if you will.

No, jogging will not get you a sick pack.

Intense cardio that gets your heart rate into the fat burning zone will get you closer to a sick pack then just jogging. Try hill sprints or intervals on the treadmill.

You need to lose body fat so you can see the muscles in your stomach. You'll have to change your diet to low fat, high protein etc. Plus add lots of core exercises like planks, wood choppers and a variety of sit ups.

    Good luck!

Yes, it exercises the abs AND helps to burn off the fat covering the muscle, so they look more prominent.

Stick to it, results won't be quick but they will come!

Jogging is cardio, it will burn fat and you will get leaner if you are eating correctly, but it won't build ab muscle. Concern yourself with getting lean enough first however, as you need to be 10% body fat or less to be properly ripped

    All the best

No. You need to target abs by doing sit ups / crunches or other excercise that is meant specifically to target the abdomin. The bicycle crunch excercise is commonly regarded as the best ab workout. Here is a list of ab workouts:

  • Maybe a little but crunches would be the best thing to gain a 6 pack...

Jogging is more for losing fat... i.e losing the layer of fat over your 6 pack so you can actually see it.
