In downloading some old time radio shows I ran into two terms I have never seen before.?
I know what an MP3 is, but I found VBR MP3 and Ogg Vorbis. What are they besides another way to encode audio? Is there an advantage to any of the 3 formats I've found so far?

VBR=variable bit rate. It will play like a standard MP3.
Ogg Vorbis is a different kind of file compression...you may need to download a new player for those files.

VBR MP3 is used to obtain a fixed level of quality in the recorded material http://www.pcmag.com/encyclopedia_term/0,2542,t=MP...
OGG VORBIS is an audio compression format/program http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vorbis
