First off, congratulations on making it to nationals! That is incredible. I know how you feel. I play basketball and excel in cross country and track. I think if you aren't having fun and its not worth it to you and you feel your time would be better spent running, then run! Don't do something you don't enjoy. I had to think the same thing this season, and I decided to stick with it because I would miss it. But I don't look at the clock waiting for it to end. Plus, if your basketball coaches can't respect the fact you are more concerned for cross country than basketball at the moment, then they aren't very cool. If my team made it to nationals, my basketball coaches would understand and let me balance my priorities. I personally think you should quit basketball if you really aren't enjoying it and you should focus on what is most important to you. If I were you, I would hate that ym coaches aren't being respectful and I would hate playing basketball knowing I had XC Nationals coming up and I would want to focus on that. I am not a very good bball player either haha. However, if the money is a big deal in the situation, you should talk to the athletic director and ask about the refund policy. Usually with my school its before the first game or 30 days. I hope you figure out a situation that makes you happy. Good luck at nationals! What team are you? I'll root for you!
