How do you create your own web page/site? / Online writing group for teens?
Hey, I'm 14 and have skipped around the net for a bit looking for an online website for people my age with no success. I'm not requesting help to find one though.
Basically I just wanna know how I would go about creating my own web page/site. Would I have to pay? Is is complicated? Anyone who knows the steps needed to be taken (detail is good) please tell me!
It's just that I got the idea of if I can't find a website why not create one? If there is anyone else my age feeling the same way then maybe we could like swap email addis and share ideas?
Or maybe I'm just being naive. Either way, please relpy!

Hi. i'm 19 and I as well sufford a miscarriage on 12/19/07. And I know exactually what you are going through. having a baby is the best thing in the whole world to me. people around us will forget but we never will. It was the first day of my second trimester when i miscarried. i was souposed to be in what doctors call "the safe zone". i don't drink or smoke. and i still have no answers on why this happened to me. I have searched the internet over a million times and i can't find a teen support group anywhere. i hardly ever get on the internet because i don't have a computer at my house and i don't have very much time to come to the library. but i am more then welcome to keep in touch with you and we can help each other through this very hard time in each of our lives. if you want we can be "pen pals" and we can write to each other through the post office mail. I don't think that anyone should have to go through this time alone. my mailing address is p.o box 594 dresden, ohio 43821. I would love to hear from you and we can share each others stories. I hope to hear from you soon. Take care. Rachel Ann Miller

Hi! Basically you need
1) a web space and maybe a domain (where to put the website content; ) this is called hosting (as a computer that is on 24/7 will host your web site)
2) a web site software where you will create your web site document - it will be a hyperlinked document, there is software similar to MS Word but more specific and with powerful features to create the site pages, to link pages etc. you create it on your PC, and then the software is able to get it and put it to your web space --> (1)
there is some free hosting for (1) but very often it is not so reliable.

Before I start, I'm 13 years old.
You can get a website up for free, but it won't look as professional as a site like, for example, mybusiness.com. If you want a site for free, it will not be a full domain name (in other words, it won't be completely the way you want it. It may be like mybusiness.freewebsites.com and at freewebsites.com, you can create your own website.
If you do want your website to be independant, you can do it for free but it's difficult and will not have ANY type of domain name (not mybusiness.com or mybusiness.freesites.com). If you do want a domain, you have to pay the official company in charge of the Internet (ICANN - Internet Corportion for Assigned Names and Numbers) a small fee to register your domain,. They charge a fee so excess registrations and spam submissions will cost someone!
The second step is to either run your own HTTP server or rent one. if you run your own server, you must have a good upload speed, a static IP address (or a service like http://www.dyndns.org that will give you one for free) and a very good computer if your website is going to be very busy (busy as in 20 users on it at a time). If you do not meet the criteria of the above 3, you'd be better off going with rented hosting, and also, you must bear in mind the power bill for keeping your HTTP server on all night! (If the power is off, the site is off!).
Then the thrid part takes the longest: designing your site. You can choose any site builder you like (I recomment Serif WebPlus X2 because it can do SO much for the £40 they charge for it).
4th, you sit back, relax and watch your site grow!
Please feel free to e-mail me if you have any questions about websites!
I hope your site goes as planned!Source(s): Take a look at mine: http://www.andrewtaylor.eu
