Resetting Screen Resolution... (screen is black)?

i tried changing my screen resolution and now its says, 'Auto Detect (Analog Input) : Cannot Display This Video Mode'..

So now my screen is black and I don't know what to do? Someone was telling me to press F8 when starting up so I could change my resolution form there but I need step by step..

Please someone help.. I have a Dell Vostro 200..

MY SCREEN IS PITCHED BLACK, CANT SEE MY DESKTOP.. BUT THANKS ANYWAYS =D IMA END UP RESTARTING (REBOOTING) THE WHOLE COMPUTER.. THANKS EVERYONE!

    go to control panel look around on the screen where it says appearance and personalization and it will say adjust screen resolution so click on that and then a small window will come up with a square with a 1 and one with a 2 look around that window and click set to default it might take a few seconds but it will adjust to the default screen resolution

    F8, then select "Last Known Good Configuration". Hope this helps...

    try taking the battery out of the phone that always helps

    ctrl alt delete then f11 will work
