Stranded on a desert island?

Suppose you're stranded on a desert island. What 3 items would you want to have with you? These items can be anything you want, but cannot be other people.

I'm interested to know if LGBT people have differing priorities

Assume that you're going to be there at least 1 year. There's no electricity to charge your phones, ipods etc (unless you take your own solar panels)

It's weird how we use the word "desert" with island huh? I always consider an island in the ocean somewhere. Any who, I'd definitely would take a well stocked medical kit., a radio like they have in the military that you crank up to generate power & of course dry rations to last a least one year. For me it was a toss up between a blanket & a radio. ciao..

    Lets see i would have

An watch. So I know what other people are doing while I am sunning it up

A football called Wilson. So I have someone to talk to.

A cookbook so I can make nice Island food.

But if this is in the future I would have a replicating machine to make anything. Then I would never have to leave.

    1. Satellite phone.

    2. GPS device.

    3. Food/water.

If I'm stuck there for a year, then I'd bring:

    1. Food/water, lots of it.

    2. Solar panel powered computer. (Can I pre-load it with Wikipedia and some other stuff?)

    3. A reliable knife.

    Hmm.. On a desert island??

I would bring a camper! That has everything in it I'd need to survive except food, but I'm going to assume I can find food on the island.

And then I would bring my ipod and a phone.. Because I can charge it in the camper..

That's three things and I'd be cool if I was going to be stranded there. Itt would be like a vacation..

I wanna see you work your body, so give it to me, give it to me.

From a straight perspective (and assuming we're not talking about life-saving necessities)?

A spear would be good. An axe. And a heavy hammer.

Everything a bloke needs to destroy democracy and win the veto, build the best hut and decimate the local shoreline fish population...

Ok, if this includes food, then I would want my

    camera & batteries

    jugs of iced tea

If this excludes food, then I would want my

    camera & batteries

    a tent

a bed to put in my tent......really depends on how long I am stuck on that island..if it was only a few hours, then I would choose

    my camera and batteries

    iced tea

(and if I had already eaten)..prolly a cell phone or my computer

    Hmm, tricky, very tricky.

    1) Book on Deserted Island Survival (Like thiose books that tell you how to build huts from trees and make fires and stuff)

    2) Bunch of clothes that protect me from elements.

    3) I don't know what else I need. ;o

    A Bowie knife

    A large iron fry pan

The biggest package of dental floss they make

I can do amazing things with a knife.

Just because I'm on an island doesn't mean I should neglect my gums.

    2) the complete collection of Ian Rankin books -well with no TV I'll need something to read
