How long does swelling last with sunburn?

My left arm is very red and covered with blistered but feels okay. My right arm is very red and swollen with a few tiny blisters. It is very painful though and feels a bit like when you've been laid on your arm and feels dead and achy. Every so often the pressure eases but then it feels really tight again and swells back up. It doesn't burn too much just aches.

I'm allergic to anti-inflammatories so can't take any Ibuprofen.

Thankyou in advance.

It should die down after 48 hours, but may be sore for 3 days or more if it is bad sunburn. Drink plenty of water to hydrate the skin and if you can get a moisturing lotion that contains vitamin E which will help repair the skin quicker. When you burn it is a good idea to hold a cold flannel on the area for 10 minutes to help soothe it

Source(s): hope you feel more comfortable soon and wear sun cream next time!
