Acid Reflux / Stomach Bloating?

Forgot to add. I often feel quite dizzy to which is really getting me down and very tired all the time.

Update:

Hi there

I have just been diagnosed with acid reflux after 3 months of pain......can any one help me, in knowing what I can and can't eat as its driving me nuts. I have lost 2 stone in the last 2 months, which is great, as I needed to. Still need to lose more though which I am working on.

I am currently on lansoprozole, taking 2 a day and then gaviscon if I need it to. But I am finding my stomach is really bloating, mainly at night, but its just not comfortable. The acid seems to have got better though, its just the bloating thats really getting me down now. I am drinking lots of water and to be honest hardly eating anything as I am worried what I can and cant have......

I also have a fatty liver which I know can cause bloating to. But does anyone have any suggestions????

Thanks

Sue

I have been suffering from painful acid reflux symptoms that doctors found difficult to diagnose. Needless to say, pills and antacids didn’t cure me and the relief was temporary and sometimes insignificant.

I was prescribed Lansoprazole which was brilliant but after two years of aching joints, extreme muscle pain which the doc gave me cortisone jags for, with some research I discovered the drug Lansoprazole was causing these rare side effects but it was I who diagnosed it NOT my doctor, I came off the drug 2 months ago, changed my diet and discovered just eating an apple stops any acid reflux, I eat an apple before bed, brilliant no acid, any time I feel the slightest sign of reflux I simply eat an apple.

Apple juice is not that good nor is anything else I have tried including honey at stopping reflux.

I used to be hooked on junk food, Tums and Pepto Bismol. I had suffered badly from severe acid reflux, chest pains and bloating to the point when I begged my doctor to be hospitalized. https://tr.im/HeartburnTreatment

Chronic heartburn is usually from acid reflux - stomach acid is getting past the little valve and into your esophagus. You also should know some natural ways to treat your heartburn. Learn them here

The most immediate thing you can do is to stop drinking coffee and cola. Smoking is not good either, but that might be harder to stop. Don't over-eat. Don't lie down too soon after eating. Don't burp too much - this carries acid up with the burp.

Your doctor can refer you to hospital for an operation that stops acid getting into the chest, but that's only available if medications such as omeprqzole don't work.Speak to your GP.
