Did Jilibeanus (Jilibean of the United States and Canada) coin the term? Now I see the word all over the place on Answers.

Okay.. First of all, if you are constantly seeing this phrase on the internet, then do not just firstly assume everyone just loves talking about the noise an owl makes, haha. It's a pretty popular term where people express happiness, victory or a simple cheer-on.

If your favorite team is winning and you are on the benches or behind the screen watching it, you would yell out, "Woot, woot!" It's basically just a cheering slang. (Used by a lot of gamers.)

That happens all the time to me.
I see a word that I have never seen before so I look up the definition or whatever and then I see it all over the place.
As for Woot, yes Jil brought this term into common usage.

I always picture " woot" being said as you "raise the roof". Maybe that's just me. Here in Indiana we say "wooop woop" instead.
