The three components of a nucleotide ...
Sugar - Either ribose or deoxyribose (in RNA or DNA)
Nitrogenous base - Adenine, guanine, cytosine, thymine (only in DNA), uracil (only in RNA)
Phosphates - One to three, two of which are usually hydrolyzed to provide the energy to attach the nucleotide and form the phosphodiester bond

For DNA nucleotides.
A pentose sugar named deoxyribose.
Either 1 of four nitrogenous base (Cytosine, Guanine, Thymine, Adenine)
Up to 3 phosphate groups.
For RNA nucleotides replace deoxyribose with ribose and thymine with uracil.

There are two types of nucleotides.
1. Deoxyribo nucleotide
2. Ribose nucleotide
Deoxyribose nucleotides makes DNA. one DNA nucleotide contain,
deoxyribose sugar
phosphate group and
the bases A (adenine) or C (cytosine) or T (Thymine) or G (guanine)
Ribose nucleotides makes RNA. one RNA nucleotide contain,
Ribose sugar
phosphate group and
the bases A (adenine) or C (cytosine) or U (uracil) or G (guanine)

· a sugar (called deoxyribose)
· a phosphate group (1 phosphorus atom joined to 4 oxygen atoms)
· one of 4 nitrogenous bases (Adenine, Guanine, Cytosine, Thymine)

There are DNA and RNA.
Sugar in DNA is deoxyribose and Sugar in RNA is ribose
Base in DNA are cytosine, guanine, thymine and adenine
Base in RNA are cytosine, guanine, adenine and uracil
