Xbox 360 Screen Resolution?

Which screen resolution should i use for my xbox, 1280 x 1024 or 1024 x 768, and what is the difference between these two?Also, what does the reference levels change?

    Use the native resolution of your TV or monitor.

    The reference levels assist with the black levels mostly while using the VGA cable. The optimal setting for that depends on your TV and connection. Test out each one and see what looks best to you.

    Run it at the highest your xbox will let you. If you don't have a 1080p compatible tv you won't get the choice.

    Just go to console settings in the system blade and pick the highest one not greyed out.
