Jehovah's Witnesses, What Is "The Truth"???

Describe it in simple terms if you can and I would appreciate biblical references.

Yes I have the dictionary so please no sarcasm, ad hominem attacks, or hateful judging, just a simple answer would be great!

Dictionary definition I have for TRUTH:

1. the true or actual state of a matter: He tried to find out the truth.

2. conformity with fact or reality; verity: the truth of a statement.

3. a verified or indisputable fact, proposition, principle, or the like: mathematical truths.

4. the state or character of being true.

5. actuality or actual existence.

6. an obvious or accepted fact; truism; platitude.

7. honesty; integrity; truthfulness.

8. (often initial capital letter) ideal or fundamental reality apart from and transcending perceived experience: the basic truths of life.

9. agreement with a standard or original.

10. accuracy, as of position or adjustment.

11. Archaic. fidelity or constancy.

Jesus said God's Word is truth.

    John 17:17

That's what we, as Witnesses of Jehovah, believe.

    Pilate asked that of Jesus..

Jesus said “For this I have been born, and for this I have come into the world, that I should bear witness to the truth.”—John 18:37.

Pilate’s reply was a memorable question: “What is truth?” (John 18:38) Did he really want an answer? Probably not.

Since Jesus was a Jew it would appear that the Message he brought did not register in some hearts back in the first Century- even though he came often to the Temple to preach.

So the " Truth" has to be something that seperates one from the so called basic beliefs that people claim to clinge to. For instance did Jesus teach about the Immortality of the Soul? How about the hellfire doctrine- could Jesus teach people about God's love, and then turn around and tell them that they were going to Burn in a fire for all time if they did not Obey him?

" The Truth " seperates the wheat from the Chaff. Not for nothing did Jesus say " You will know the truth, and the truth will set you free_ free from what one may ask? Freedom from traditions of men. Jesus identified the problem when he quoted the words of the prophet Isaiah: “It is in vain that they keep worshiping [God], because they teach commands of men as doctrines.”—Matthew 15:9

Wow....lots of Thumbs down for JW who are answering Correctly.. I await my thumbs down.!

When a student studying with Jehovah's Witnesses studies the Bible for the first time, they begin to realize that what it teaches is true. It is all in harmony with itself, it fits together in logical order and it all makes sense. There isn't any confusion when one recognizes the truth. There is a trustworthiness to what is learned that has "the ring of truth" which can't really be disputed.

The truth includes many things. It would be hard to convince you of truth in the space of one of these posts. But the truth is that "God is Love" He is very real and he cares very much for mankind. He wants a close and loving relationship with every human, if there isn't one, it is because many humans reject such a relationship. They do this by their actions and attitudes. He loves mankind so much that he sent his son to earth to help us, to restore mankind to perfection and to paradise. We originally had these things, but our own grandparents chose a wrong path and lost their close relationship with our God.

When you begin to study the Bible you will come to know why God permits suffering during our time and how he feels about it and what he will do to eliminate it. You will understand that he has four primary qualities Love, Justice, Power and Wisdom. That in these four ways he has 'made man in his image'. All of these qualities are in perfect balance to accomplish his purposes. Without one of them the rest wouldn't do us much good.

You will understand how each of these qualities explains why things have happened they way they must happen. His quality of Justice for instance required that a ransom be given for our sins. He couldn't simply forgive them without the price being paid. That wouldn't have been "just". Justice without love could have meant he would let us just go on destroying ourselves, but he loves us too much for that, so he has provided a way out of the mess we are in. Without Power, he wouldn't be ABLE to make a difference, and without Wisdom he wouldn't be able to make the right decisions and do it well.

The Truth therefore is a system of belief based on the Bible that clearly shows what God is like, what he is planning, how he can and will help mankind, what kind of God he is NOT, and what we should do to be in line for the blessings he has promised obedient mankind.

God does not torture people. That is the truth. Some claim he sends them to a place of torment called hell. That is a disgusting and blasphemous lie. It is also a total misunderstanding of a very few scriptures along with ignoring others. The truth is that mankind dies, and when they do it is as though they were sleeping. They cease to exist, are totally without conscious thought and their only hope is the resurrection of the dead. This happens not immediately after death, but when Christ calls them forth. Most of the dead are still sleeping in the ground.

Only a limited number, those who are part of the "first resurrection" have been raised so far. But the Bible tells us that there will be a "resurection of the righteous and the unrigteous". At that time people who were good and obedient to God (the righteous) will be brought back to life. The "unrighteous" which would include many who weren't exactly wicked, but maybe just didn't know right from wrong will also be resurrected, taught, and given a chance to learn to love God and neighbor too.

The truth is a beautiful thing. It is holy and pure and without defilement. Learning the truth can be a wonderful journey, but like I said, it takes longer, than a post like this can. It involves convincing using scripture afer scripture. Why not ask a JW the next time he or she comes to your door to teach you the truth? We offer study from the Bible for free. Take all the time you need, ask any questions you like. We will show it all to you from the Bible.

The truth is not going to be found in any Man made books.

These robots programmed fer gawd underscore the intellectual poverty and conservative sewerage that America tolerates. The cults are run by sociopaths with no interest in truth. Truth is their personal enemy, and all of the naive followers they use will avoid the truth because it shows how they have been used.

A free spirit is the only one who can handle the truth.

Jehovah Witnesses are false, it is a cult. They distort the Bible and deny Christ's deity.

No use asking a JW, they wouldn't know it if it jumped up and bit them on their bum!

Even their NWT version of the Bible is corrupt.

When praying to God, Jesus Christ himself said: "Sanctify them by means of the truth; your word is truth" (John 17:17).
