NFL MOCK DRAFT: And with the 6th pick in the draft the New York Jets Select......?????

1 Miami - Chris Long DE

2 St Louis - Jake Long OT

3 Atlanta - Glenn Dorsey DT

4 Oakland - Darren McFadden RB

5 New England - Vernon Gholston DE (KC trades for NE 1st and NE 3rd)

6 New York Jets - ontheclock

New england pulls the trigger grabs Gholston Chiefs move to 7th and now you are on the clock as the jets, never underestimate Bill's hate for Eric Mangini. With Gholston gone Do the Jets turn to a corner. Do they try and improve their offensive line. Matt Ryan is still out there and falling ala Brady Quinn.

Please make a pick base on the these 5 prior picks. If you need more info on why these players were picked check my profile for past question on mock draft.

So who are the Jets taking?

Update:

I think its a great trade for the chiefs. They only move down from 5th to 7th overall gain an extra pick, and at 7th they are still pretty much looking at the same players, and puts them in a more better position to justify grabbing an o-linemen.

Assuming that the first 5 picks go as you suggest....

The Jets actually had a top 10 pass defense so I think it would be a mistake to take a CB in round 1, especially since there is enough talent they could get one in round 2. Now their run defense is a different story, ranking 29th in the NFL last season.

With the 6th pick in the NFL draft, the New York Jets select Dan Connor of Penn State. A few weeks ago, Ellis would have been the obvious pick, but they just went out and got Jenkins to sure up the middle of the line and Ellis can't slide to the outside. Connor makes the most sense because he can slide around and play any of the 4 LB spots. He's the best tackler in this years LB class and he's got great instincts.

It makes no sense to answer this because your mock draft is way off. The first two picks are both probable but there is no way that Atlanta passes on Ryan to pick up a DT. McFadden to Oakland is a good one but then there is still the possibility that Dallas could trade up to take him. New England is not going to trade up for a DE. First of all New England very rarely trades up, its more likely that they will trade down. And with all the damage they have taken at DB during FA they are more then likely going to go CB and take Mckielven when they pick at number 7. With that said Matt Ryan is already gone because he wont make it past KC because they are not going to trade that pick. Leave the mock drafts to the "experts".

I see the Jets in this case swapping first rounders with the Vikings and picking up Minnesotas 3rd and 6th rd picks. Here the Vikings jump in and select Ryan. The Jets can still get a good end in DerrickHarvey at 17 and Minnesota soildifys its offense by getting the best QB avaliable

The jets have had some poor poor picks the past couple of years. The might have that luck again. The jets will be listenin, to any draft day trades. But if they dont recieve any good offers they probably will go with sedrick ellis out of usc.or trade 2 or 3 picks down and pick up rashard mendenhall out of illinois.a dt or rb is what they need and it be a good pick.havin the 6th pick is a great position but with this weak draft class its better to slip down past 7th and pick up better quality players.

With three of those teams really needing a quarterback, Matt Ryan will not fall that far. He will go either number 1 or 3. If he somehow falls to 6th (which is very unlikely), he should be picked up by the Jets because they really dont have a decent signal caller and Pennington is washed up.

McKelvin possibly. If in this situation, they might trade down themselves. They can still get a quality corner at a lower pick.....

I'm not sold on NE trading up. They usually pride themselves on finding the surprise player. I think the Pats are targeting McKelvin themselves.

Either Matt Ryan "Leaf's recarnation" or Aqib Talib/Leodis McKelvin. Matt is 100% not worth a top 10 but NYJ need a QB bad & how knows he could become decent & that secondary is pretty whack & they got KJ so no need for a top tier DT anymore.

Not going to lie, the Jets don't really make the best choices when they draft. I personally wouldn't be surprised with a ridiculous trade or reach.

Leodis McKelvin because they already stacked up DL with Kris Jenkins
