How often do people try to pretend to you that Britain is a "nation of Immigrants"?
A nation of immigrants?
The former Minister for Immigration recently described Britain as a "nation of immigrants". It is very hard to see what she meant. Since the Norman conquest (1066) there has been relatively little immigration into Britain, perhaps because we are an island nation. English population history is known better than almost any other in the world. And research into surnames and genes confirms that our population has been little affected by immigration for nearly a thousand years. The US State Department website notes that " Contemporary Britons are descended mainly from the varied ethnic stocks that settled there before the 11th century." Instead, Britain has been a country of considerable emigration since the 17th century.

the DNA studies of Britain and especially Ireland show that it is almost untouched significantly since neolithic times -fact! The Irish and Basques have the oldest DNA in Europe with the Brits not far behind. These are truly "ancient races" --anything else is NWO spin.

I would agree with you, butthings have changed since the 1950s when we took in a large number of west indians (by invitation) and since then we have had huge numbers of immigrants from Pakistan, India, Africa, Asia, Eastern Europe - although native britons are emigrating at an increasing rate, foreign immigrants far outnumber those leaving. Immigration is expected to increase the population by 10 million in the next few years. The immigrants are breeding at a faster rate than the native Britons also. Help!

Thanks for the history lesson but I think if you took a trip around London of some of the seaside towns of the South East you may find that has been a huge influx of Eastern Europeans and other nationalities. This government has loosened out border controls to the extent that local resources are past breaking point in terms of housing, benefits, and support. It is a very recent problem.
This country is only so big and has only so much resources. That is not racist that is just fact.
We cannot just allow people to settle here just because they wish it and they are from another state in Europe. We should look at refusing benefit to immigrants for the first 3 years of their residency here. That would help stop people migrating for housing and benefits with little intention of learning english and seeking employment.

Well it is and it isnt.
A lot of peoples came here over the last few thousand years, however the difference was that they were broadly speaking, compatible with each other. Whereas now we have many totally alien cultures arriving, and it is that which is causing the problems. So the minister is being DELIBERATELY MISLEADING on that score.
The Celts arrived in around 800-600BC, followed by the Romans, some of whom stayed and intermingled (interestingly, many legionaries stationed in Britain were Aramaic speakers from Mesopotamia and Syria), then you had the Anglo=Saxons from the 400's AD, followed by Danes and Norse, then Normans. Jews arrived in the early middle ages, and later still Irish, Flemish, Dutch, Frisians and Huguenot French.
However all of these people have eventually fitted into the fabric of Britain, and have a shared culture and identity today.
Since the 1950's peoples have come into the UK from totally alien cultures, peoples with Religions, Social Values, Beliefs, Political Ideals and National Characteristics that are simply incompatible with the UK.
Its a generalisation, but there are two sets i think. Those that seem to fit in, work hard, obey the law, are loyal to Britain and have social values and cultures that allow them to integrate are generally speaking as follows, Jews, Middle Eastern Christians, Chinese/Orientals, Indian Hindus and Sikhs, Greeks/Cypriots, Maltese, Italians, Poles and Czechs(in reasonable numbers!) and those Arabs and Iranians who came here in the 1950's and 60's.
Those that do not integrate, do poorly in the job market and education, sponge off the state, commit more crime, are not loyal to the UK and have cultures, religions and social values that are incompatible are generally speaking as follows; Pakistanis, Afghans, Bangladeshis, Somalis, Eritreans, Albanians, Romanians, Kosovans, East European Gipsies, Moroccans, Algerians, Kurds,a fair number of Afro-Caribbeans and those Arabs that have come here in the last 10 years.Source(s): Being partly Assyrian, and male sided DNA is among the most unaltered on the planet, and partly British, Welsh, English, Irish.

Err??? No immigrants since the Norman Conquest??? You are certainly mistaken! Check out the Huguenots (17th Century, from France). Hundreds of thousands of them, arrived here as refugees, after persecution in their homeland; enough to introduce new french words, culture, working practises and surnames (now anglicized) into the English Language. They integrated remarkably well with the locals in the space of less than a generation. Check out your family tree and I'd be willing to bet that there are french Huguenots in there somewhere (they certainly are in mine!).
Also, check out the huge numbers of Eastern European jews who arrived here after discrimination in their own countries, before the First World war. And lesser, but still significant numbers of ethnic Germans, who left due to religious intolerance in the 19th Century.
More recently, large numbers of British Commonwealth Asians, African Asians (from Uganda, kicked out by Idi Amin in the 1970's) and afro-Carribeans.

I'm not an immigrant, I was born and bred in the UK, as were my parents and their parents before them, as were millions of other people living here so technically we're not a nation of immigrants. That is just a Leftie cop-out, a weak attempt to try and justify multi-culturism.
Maybe we should adopt the ludacrous double-barrel nationality garbage that the leftie Americans use, maybe I should be classed as an Viking-Englishman? or a Saxon-Englishman?
What bollocks. I was born in the UK to English parents so therefore I'm not an immigrant, kinda blows that "the UK is a nation of immigrants" argument out of the water.

You must be confused.
Britain takes on more refugees than any other country in the World and that is a fact.

Its well known throughtout the World that in Britain you get Free everything... House, Rent, Healthcare, Dental even Money! Who wouldn't want to come here?

They say it every time we mention mass immigration! and they do it to brainwash the more gullible into tthinking we have no right to call this our country.
We have every right to call this our country ! Our forefathers fought to keep it for us and succeeded admirably. Should we then just roll over and surrender it to New World Order - the EU - The PC idiots - New Labour - The Muslims or whatever you want to call those who continually try to cry us down and defeat our spirit.
We have been the envy of the world for generations. Keep a stiff upper lip - The British Bulldog , stalwart and strong is not dead only sleeping!
