Should non-believers celebrate Christmas?

My children pray every night, and we save up our money all year so that we can buy as many gifts for ourselves and our friends as possible.
The neighbors next door say that they do not believe in Santa Claus, and yet they still put up a tree and hand out presents. This just seems wrong to me. This holiday was not intended to be enjoyed by people who are not celebrating the birth of Saint Nicolas.
The neighbor children are often at our house after school to play. If they continue to spread their non-believing attitudes to my children, I'm afraid I'll have to ask them to stop coming. Is it wrong for me to sit them down and tell them about the birth of Santa, the 8 reindeer, and the true meaning of Christmas?
