McCanns: what happened to the lie detector test that would 'prove' their innocence ?

Do you remember the bravado of Kate and Gerry giving it how they would take a lie detector test to 'prove' their innocence.

What was Kate and Gerry's excuse not to take the test ?

I was watching something on TV the other night, it was about the Susan Smith case, ( the women who murdered her children, but went on TV saying that they had been abducted ) she took a lie detector, and one of the questions that she was asked was, DO YOU KNOW WHERE YOUR CHILDREN ARE? the machine went off the scale, this would be a good question to ask the McCanns under a lie detector test

They chickened out because they didn't want to be backed into a corner. They were all for taking the test until they were advised only to do so by the PJ. Very crafty seeing as the PJ do not allow it..... so the Mc's don't need to do it. How convenient.there is so much spin it's a wonder they aren't all dizzy.

I read now that some crack pot working for the McCanns many weeks ago supposedly followed a dna trail from the complex to the beach (15 mins away). The trail was then lost at the water edge. So now the McCanns are saying that Maddy was definately abducted and taken away in a boat. they didn't mention that moored not far away are boats owned by British people and that Gerry could have paid off one of them to dispose of the body out at sea in a bag full of rocks,,, never to be found again

EDIT VIJACK..... even if the lie detector is not admissible in court If I was innocent I would have arranged a private one under strict conditions if only to satisfy the baying public. Nothing to hide , nothing to fear.

They never intended to take the test, they know it would not be used in the police investigation. They said it to try and persuade people that they are innocent, same as they said they had hired Private Investigators, Psychics etc, its all media spin.

Never heard any more of it. Never thought the offer was kosher in the first place. Just spin and PR from their paid pundits.

They never had any intention of taking the test.

The excuse was that it was inadmissable in court.

Dont you think that they knew that beforehand?

The annoying thing is that this was just another callous publicity stunt. The headline sticks..thats what people remember.

Well done for noticing and pointing it out.

We have to do our bit to counter the McCann publicity machine.

Lie detector machines don't work. That's why.

Another PR exercise to grab the headlines. Just like the £80K to keep the Find MAddie fund at the forefront of the press.

Who do you want them to prove it to? They are not admissable in a court of law so why should they ?

They did take the test, but the machine blew up, smoke and flames were pouring out of it. Must have been an electrical fault, do you think?
