Being stabbed, or the skin being punctured by a needle ... unless you know precisely where it's been, ya need to go get checked out.

If you have had a nedlestick injury you need to keep under running water and milk the area to make it bleed. Then cover the area with a clean dressing like a plaster and report to your local A&E or occupational health if working as a health care professional. They will check to see if you have contracted hepatitis b or c and will offer you a booster. They can test for HIV but you may need counselling for this as it won't show up until up to 3 months following the injury if it happens. Hope it helps.

Hurt like the dickens, and are dangerous too. If clean needle take care of it the same way you would any other wound, neosporin and a band aid to protect it. If dirty needle have the person who was stuck with it get tested for Hepatitis and HIV, then Get yourself tested as well.

If you have a needle stick from a dubious source, it is critical that you attend casualty as quickly as possible! All A+E departments have a protocol for this. It involves blood tests, which need repeated, and a risk assessment. If appropriate, following this you would be offered a cocktail of antiviral therapy to reduce your risks of HIV and Hepatitis C.

Not sure what the question is but, if you work for the health profession, check with staff health regarding policy and proceedure. Usually have to have blood taken.
