Ahhh !! Stop giving yourself such a hard time, your still a baby at 22. I know people in their late 30's and 40's who are just now taking up University Degrees including myself. It's never to late to start.. But it's easier in my opinion to do it while your young , like you.

Congratulate yourself for trying to educate yourself and improve your prospects.

Do you enjoy the subject your studying?.

Are you finding it easy to get to grips with, interesting, etc ?

What type of employment would you seek , without this degree?

Ask yourself at least these questions before considering jacking it all in.

When you complete this degree you will still be young, and will have acquired , something that will put you ahead, in the employment stakes. Even if you don't use the degree, it will be something to fall back on.

Plus you are taking on a field that is ever changing, technology is forever changing ,very quickly now a days. You will be learning the newest, and then once qualified, have access to cutting edge stuff. and the world will be your oyster. hang on in there. Time really does fly xx

First of all you should not feel like a sad case just because you are doing a foundation course at university. Instead you should be really proud of yourself for having got into university, for knowing what you want to do and following it through.

If you really want to study and think that it is the best route to take for the career path that you intend to follow then you do it. Do not give up because of what other people say, think or what people might say and might think. You should always do what is best for you.

So many people walk around with regrets and are in careers that they dont really want to do so if a foundation course and three more years of study is what it takes for you to do and be the person you want to be then dont give up.

Im 24, graduated 3 years ago and have only just found a career that I want to pursue. People are forever making their comments about my career choices and the time it's taking me to work out what i want to do. It gets me down but to be honest what I do and the routes I take in life are my business.

So long as you are not hurting anyone you do whatever it takes to get to where you wannabe and ignore the others. More often than not they are jealous and just wanna drag you down anyway.

Anyway, enough of my rambling....But I hope that helps.

    Take care and God Bless.

There's no age limit in what you want to do in life. I was going evening classes, there were students who are 40-50 years old. Look at it this way, Do you want to have a career you enjoy that pays well, or "Would you like fries with that" along with low low pay? If you want to feel better about it, you should dedicate yourself into this field. Find a job or internship that does what you do, and work your whole way through your school, then maybe you don't feel you are wasting time. Teh most important thing is to get your foot out the door, when you re graduated, you wouldn't be stuck in entry level, you would be a manager or sth that suit your age.

I will be STARTING a 6 year part time degree in October at the age of 33. At the moment I am undecided which to do first - English Literature or History. All I know is that I want to do BOTH.

    No way!

What would be sad, is you sitting at home wasting a good opportunity to get a career you want!

I wont lie going to Uni can be hard work, but it can also be alot of fun!

Also instead of a dead end job you hate, you may end up in a job you love. You got to think of the long term.

Go for it. Dont worry about your age 22 is still young.

NO it's not sad, it's never sad to start your life & build a future for yourself. In fact it's very good that you're doing something. Some people go to Uni at 40 or even later. Enjoy life & don't worry about age & numbers. you're still very young!

You should be proud of yourself for all that you have already accomlished. You dont want to quite and start working, you will regret it knowing that if you would have stuck with school you could be making more money. Stick with it, and be proud of all that you do!
