None of the above. The best one to use is the plastic, snap on, magnetic rollers with the smooth barrel. This roller will let you set your hair while it's wet, give you smooth curls, the curls will last longer, wont dry out your hair, wont break off your hair. Sponge rollers are worst thing to use on your hair, they break off your hair, because the sponge absorbs the moisture and dry out your hair, plus the hair gets tangled in them. I even sleep in my plastic rollers every night and I wear 45 large rollers to bed.

Source(s): What I use for over 10 yeras. My curls always come out perfect.

salon type plastic mesh rollers or as lady gemimi says magnetic rollers but can be a bit tricky if you are not used to setting your hair, hair can take ages to dry using sponge rollers, velcro rollers can get stuck in your hair, Heated rollers are good for a quick fix but they never produce a good a curl as wet set rollers, I have never used steam rollers so I can't comment on their use

rollers so many to choose from all depends on the look your going for and how long do you want your curls to last they all do the same but i like BENDY ROLLERS which are made of foam and have a inner with a bit of wire inside, using a styling lotion as well to keep the curls in why dont you experiment with some on a mates hair have a girls hair party with all the products to use dont forget you can also curl your hair using tongs and even with a bit of practice with GHDs hope this helps

  • sponge rollers are the best. the heat from heat rollers damages your hair. other plastic rollers do not allow for comfort and may cause headaches.

Totally hot rollers keep them up while you do something else for like 10 min and then add a few extra curls with a curling iron

Steam rollers are the best on your hair, they won't hurt the follicles
