The famous quote - You should try everything once except incest and morris dancing, has been attributed to numerous people including conductor Thomas Beecham and composer Arnold Bax.
It was also taken for the title of English glamour model, actress and a former Page Three girl, Linzi Drew's autobiography called Incest and Morris Dancing.
Sir Thomas Beecham (born 29.04.1879 died 08.03.1961) was a British conductor. He founded several British orchestras including the Beecham Symphony Orchestra, the London Philharmonic Orchestra and the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. From the early twentieth century until his death Beecham was a dominant influence on the musical life of Britain.
Sir Arnold Edward Trevor Bax (born 8.11.1883 died 3.10.1953), was an English composer and poet. His musical style blended elements of Romanticism and Impressionism, always with a strong Celtic influence. His orchestral scores are noted for their complexity and colorful instrumentation. Bax’s poetry and stories, which he wrote under the pseudonym of Dermot O’Byrne, reflect his profound affinity with Irish poet William Butler Yeats, and are largely written in the tradition of the Irish Literary Revival.
During her career Linzi Drew appeared in many films, videos and magazine pictorials. She appeared in three Ken Russell films, including the starring role in Russell's segment of the film Aria, and was at one time the editor of the British edition of Penthouse magazine. She now also directs and produces films.
