All round it is pretty average for a car of it's size. Comfortable, Economical, but it suffers with cost's. Insurance cost's more because it is japenese, parts cost more as they are shipped in for the model as and when required!

The 1.0 Models are underpowered and roll about when cornering, but suit town life well, are pretty good fun at times too. But i'd pick a 1.3 model in all honesty, as the power is better and will be better refined to town and motorway driving. The boot tends to be a bit cramped but the steep hatch is a good thing for storing larger objects in the boot.

I'd watch out for the usual things in all small japenese cars, if you look after it, service it properly and keep it clean, then it should not rust or get in a poor condition, but let things slip, its costly to repair and the body will rot given a chance. Electrics are a bit iffy, especially the windows!!! Also watch the CV Gaiters as they can split easy and piss oil out everywhere. The heavy body and small shocks are to blame when bouncing over sleeping policemen. Kerbed wheels can fracture the axle linkage, and brakes work one day and stop the next when they approach the end of their life with no warning at all. Also the gear linkage springs are volitile and are too tight for the gearbox, but then thats a plague with any japenese car.

Hi, forget all this rubbish from everyone else. I have a Nissan Micra SE and let me tell you, I will have a hard time ever getting used to another car. I got this car brand new two years ago after being desperate for one when they came out (before this, I used to have the older Micra).

The thing about the Micra SE is that is is absolutely packed with features, many of which you would only expect to find in a bigger car. You don't need keys jangling about in your hands to get in or even to start the ignition and drive away. As long as they're in your pocket, that's all you need. You simply lock the car up by pressing a button on the door or boot ( plus there is a remote locking option on the key if you prefer to use that). The steering is just amazing because it is electronic power, not just power. The car is effortless to drive and control because of this, and because it has the smallest turning circle of any small car, so is a dream to get in and out of tight parking spaces and small roads. The tiny bonnet makes parking possible literally anywhere and gets you out of a million scrapes that the average bonnet couldn't manage.

You feel lovely and high up when you're driving along compared to other cars. The controls are smooth and the windscreen wipers will just come on when they feel the rain at whatever speed the rain is falling down. The drive computer, along with loads of other info, will tell you when you are running out of petrol and will count down the miles you have left before you need to re-fuel. You have a huge choice of optional extras when buying this car along with plenty of exterior and interior colours. Mine is pale blue with a sand interior.

I could go on forever about my brilliant car. My mum, who will only ever settle for swish, quality cars says mine is the best she has ever driven and my younger sister passed her driving test straight away in this one. I can't compliment it enough and with my insurance only £25 a month with Tesco and the car never giving me any trouble to date, it is cost effective too. If you are thinking about getting this car, do it because you won't look back. I hope you love yours as much as I do mine!

there are two types of micra if you look at the chassis/frame number it will be either k10, if it is an early one or k11 if it is the newer one, the early one i saw in a crash test programme and it was the worst one in it i remember being horrified! but the k11, is a much safer prospect altogether, from a running, maintenance point of view they both age very well and are fairly cheap to run, i hope this helps,

Avoid it like the plague, it's just a renault in disguise.. my mum had one and the engine fell to pieces, they're not like the Nissan of old when the Japanese were in charge!
