Where did the term "monkey's blood" originate from?
The raspberry sauce you put on ice cream is called "monkey's blood" in the north of england. Anyone know where it originates from?

Yes its the Hartlepool monkey thing, they didnt actually think the monkey was spying for the French, they thought it was a Frenchman! and who can blame them? The French still havent changed a lot since then!

Probably from Hartlepool , They hung a monkey for being a spy for the french
