well if you are talking about amphetamines such as adderall, yes its bad for you but its probably the drug thats the least bad for you. however, you are at risk of developing anxiety disorders when using adderall if you dont have a prescription. also, if you have underlying conditions you dont know about, it can be harmful. any heart condition or bad circulation will be made a lot worse with amphetamines. just be careful and dont do it like everyday

A single entity amphetamine product combining the neutral sulfate salts of dextroamphetamine and amphetamine, with the dextro isomer of amphetamine saccharate and d, l-amphetamine aspartate.
Amphetamines have been extensively abused.
Tolerance, extreme psychological dependence, and severe social disability have occurred.
There are reports of patients who have increased the dosage to many times that recommended.
Abrupt cessation following prolonged high dosage administration results in extreme fatigue and mental depression; changes are also noted on the sleep EEG.
Manifestations of chronic intoxication with amphetamines include severe dermatoses, marked insomnia, irritability, hyperactivity, and personality changes.
The most severe manifestation of chronic intoxication is psychosis, often clinically indistinguishable from schizophrenia. This is rare with oral amphetamines.

It should be legalised, cultivated, distributed and controlled by a government agency - or at least be monitored by a government agency. There would be several benefits to this: the government could recoup money lost fighting this part of the drug war; there would be more room in jail for violent criminals; the government could make some serious money selling and/or taxing it; people could be honest with doctors about the health risks involved and openly seek treatment and/or rehabilitation; various employment opportunities whould come into play - from farming and packaging to licensing and selling, not to mention the valuable resource of hemp. Don't get me started!!!

Abuse. The benefits you would be taking them for will not last without increasing the dose continuously. Then drug seeking behavior starts and your life becomes a physical and mental nightmare.Source(s): watching my close friend suffer thru it.
