The toenail feels like it’s barely on by a thread and I could easily take the entire thing off if something rubbed against it too hard. I’m not sure what to do or if it’s serious, but my toe is in a lot of pain right now and is throbbing constantly.

  • Is loss of sensation normal after surgery?

Best answer: Yup, that's typical. Nerve regrowth is much slower than other tissues. You won't really know how much sensation you'll get back until like 6 months after surgery.

I was treated in hospital for it but after some tests the doctor told me I'm safe and only have minor concussion. He advised me to put compress on the bump which I did when I got home. The bump has gotten bigger before I went to sleep. I woke up today finding out the bump travelled lower it seems, I cannot open my eye. My eye is swollenn fully close and very bright plum purple colour. Could the bump affectt my eye like this and cause this injury? How long will it be healing at longest?

  • What should I do about my broken ankle at a concert?

Best answer: I'd recommend crutches no matter what - even if you don't need them. It's a great visual for people to stay the hell away from you (and even creates a bit of a physical barrier). The last thing you want is to be in a crowd and have someone step down on you or kick you or harm your ankle in some way.... show more

  • Should I be concerned about this burn?

Best answer: Well, it looks OK for now, but it's how you care for that which makes all the difference. If you don't have major blistering within the first 12-24 hours, it's probably not going to. Keep it covered with a bandage & DRY- don't get that wet in the shower. If the skin starts to peel or crack, you can... show more

Keep it covered with a bandage & DRY- don't get that wet in the shower. If the skin starts to peel or crack, you can apply a little Neosporin, but greasy ointments actually impede healing by restricting the oxygen to a wound. If in doubt, you should see a doctor.

Yesterday, i stepped on a nail and it punctured my foot, what felt deeply, but it didn t puncture cleanly through. I immediately stopped the bleeding and followed it by Neosporin and a bandage. A couple hours later, i removed the bandage, cleaned it and soaked it in a bath of Epsom salt until the water got cold. I dried it off, reapplied Neosporin and a bandage. It began swelling some time later and not so long after, i lost mobility on it completely. The pain eventually caused me to resort to a dose of 600mg of ibuprofen, which helped through the end hours of the day and through the night. Today, i woke up and the ibuprofen had ran its course. The pain had returned. I got up and physically inspected my wound and all appears okay. Swollen but it doesn t appear red, or infected. But upon further inspection, along with swelling, the top of my foot is red, just opposite of the wound. Is this something i should be worried about and should i seek medical attention?

  • I got a piece of glass stuck in my foot three weeks ago, can't find it how do I get it out?

Best answer: You need to go to the doctors. It is not good having this embedded in your foot as it can cause infection or a realm of other complications not to mention the pain you must be feeling. They will be able to find it and remove it. I would highly reccomend you go to urgent care so they can fix this for you. If it... show more

  • Is it possible that a severe head injury in childhood can cause you to become “dumber”?

My dad got hit by a car as a kid and almost died. He got a pretty bad concussion and had to pretty much relearn how to talk. Is it possible this affected his intelligence or IQ? I ask because he’s... not very bright and it seems to slowly get worse as years go by.

  • I have had pain in my heel and my doctors are saying it s just sore?

About 4 or 5 weeks ago, I was kicked really hard in the back of my heel at a soccer game. It hurt really baldly the first week, but now it still hurts whenever I walk, not as bad. I went in for an Xray, but it turned out it was normal. It hurts a lot worse than to just be "Sore" so I don t know what to do!
