  • Why did the Queen order soldiers not to call locals 'Bennies' during the war with Argentina over the Isle of Man?

Best answer: During the war with Argentina, homosexuality was still illegal in the Isle of Man and those caught using the tradesman's entrance were liable to be birched. The Queen heard that the term "benny" (apparently short for bender) was being used to describe the islanders because one particularly vulgar one was always riding around on a diesel moped shouting random insults to everyone in a really camp voice. She was worried that if the islanders were called bennies, it might lead to false accusations of homosexuality and unwarranted birching, so she ordered it to stop.

  • Guys, as I am typing this my brain is blown into a million pieces since I m schizophrenic but what to do?even then God is real,ur thoughts?

Best answer: Well... I certainly haven't got the answer that's going to work for absolutely everyone, and I don't think I even realize the full extent of what's going on with you, and what this feels like, for you. But: I agree with Acetek that it's probably a good idea for you to keep taking your meds, and to keep seeing your doctor/therapist.

Other than that, though..? Could you maybe have some inner strategies that you use, whenever these feelings come over you? Like.. Telling yourself that it's all okay, for instance? Again, it is probably not even HALF comparable, but I've also had experiences of my mind being blown into about a million pieces... During high-level psychedelic experiences. And I actually rather enjoy that! Which, again, maybe that means it's a totally different thing than what's happening to you now. Or maybe it means we're different people, who enjoy different things. Or maybe it means I signed up for it, and you didn't, and that's why. But what I do, when I feel like that, anyway..? Is basically just lying down and letting it happen! Basically just saying to myself: "okay, take THAT, brain!" And trusting that I will be better off, and my brain will be better off, when I come out of it. Which has so far, (for more than six years), always been the case...

So maybe it would help thinking of it as a positive shift of some kind? As your brain dismantling itself, and rearranging itself, in order to get rid of all kinds of bullsh*t in there, that you DON'T really need? Or take more of a Buddhist approach to it... And refrain from creating stories about it, if that's unhelpful. But just observe, with complete detachment, that right now, THIS is happening to your brain! And everything is impermanent, which means that this too shall pass... So there is no need to get upset over it, or feel too deeply involved in it... Ever tried Vipassana / mindfulness meditation, like that? :)

Also: I've personally gotten more into Reiki / energy healing, as of lately! Meaning, when I feel pain and suffering in certain parts of my body, I'll hold my hands there, to send good, healing energy! And I can also do that with my brain, if I feel like that's where it's needed the most... It really tends to help a lot, in my experience! And it also gets more powerful, the more you use it.. I'm sure you can try it, even if you haven't taken a level 1 Reiki course. Because obviously, it is not going to do you any harm! Worst case scenario, it just won't do much of anything... But if you're interested, you could also consider taking the level 1 Reiki course, as that would maybe amplify it. (I'm pretty sure it did for me.) :)

Also: does it help praying to God, whenever this is happening to you? That's another thing that you can try... It is maybe unrealistic to pray for this to stop, completely. But what if you pray for the strength, love and resilience to get through this, and to NOT be alone in it? I personally think that's a good idea... And I really hope you're already seeing a doctor! But if you are..? I sure don't think it would hurt to ALSO go see a powerful shaman, or healer, who works with people on a spiritual level! In my opinion/experience..? Neither the physical NOR the spiritual aspect of this existence should be neglected! As they both impact you, and they also affect each other.

Again: please don't take my word for any of this, as I am NOT you! And I do NOT have schizophrenia! But I'm just sharing some things that have worked for me personally, I suppose. :)

Best answer: 69% of Americans identify as Christian. This doesn't include Americans who identify as Jewish, Hindu, Muslim, Buddhist, etc. Only 3% of Americans identify as atheists. So there are far more religious people here.

  • Fireball can you say something positive about any other person on this site?

Best answer: She consistently speaks highly of NCWJ. As far as I recall, that's the only one. Unless, as I sometimes suspect, referring to Shadowfire as the Warlock might be an effort at flirting.

Oh, I remembered GANGSTER GHOST. She says he is sweet.
