• Is it okay for my 11 year old daughter to hang out with boys as a regular friend group?

Growing up, most of her friends are boys. She likes taking part in traditionally “male” activities. My daughter is starting to teach puberty and middle school. I wonder if it would be best that she makes some girl friends, or should I let her hang out with the kids she’s always hung out with??

The mother of the his friend will be returning it to us so my son can take it back to class and give it to the student who owns it (BTW is very upset it was taken) but I want to know how to handle this and ensure it doesn't happen again. I don't just want to do the usual way and take his IPad away, I want him to face the student and apologise, maybe even the whole class room. I just want him to feel embarrassed and let him know that everyone knows he stole the Ooshie after everyone in class was looking for it. What should I do?

  • At what age or grade do think girls are too old to have lunch boxes or backpacks with disney princesses?

If your answer is something like "it doesn't matter", I'm pretty sure a middle school would be made fun of for it. I'm thinking somewhere around 3rd grade?

My 7yo has recently been having breakdowns. Like any kid, he gets unhappy over not getting his way, but lately his reactions are getting worse, and over things that are complete routine that weve been doing for years now (going to the gym, getting ready for bed, etc). He's throwing Tantrums worse than his two year old brother: flailing on the floor, not going to another room to calm down (we offer to let him take his DS or Kindle to entertain himself...we are just offering him some alone time while he calms down), throwing things at times. The only changes I can think of are summer vacation/no school and a 3 week vacation we took (though we got back 3 weeks ago). He's the oldest of 3, and we give each of them some one-on-one attention everyday by playing a game or reading or, occasionally, taking them out to parks or for treats with one or both of us. He almost always apologizes on his own later that day or the next day, which is reassuring me that he has empathy (is that the word im looking for?) and remorse . And he'll sit and talk with me about why he was mad and what we both did wrong in that moment, but it all is forgotten when he gets upset. We just need to help him find better ways to cope in the moment he's angry or upset. I need some ideas for what to do in the moment and some possible long term ideas to help him keep calm and know how to properly express negative feelings and release tension (maybe teaching him running, karate, or a sport for those times?).

  • Why does nobody at school like me? I want friends ;-((((?

Best answer: Join a school club.
    Be a friend.
Talk to your guidance counselor about the situation.
Just know that a lot of kids have trouble making friends, and keeping them.
Be your own person, and participate in things you like to do.
Hopefully, you will make friends with other kids who like those activities too.

My wife is a very loving mother to our son and daughter who are both 8. Our son has Aspergers syndrome and he plays up a lot for us, we understand that to a point he can't help it. However, our daughter is too young to be patient with her brother. Sometimes she will hit out at him when he is unintentionally annoying her, he sometimes sits on the floor and moves his body back and forth my daughter hates it and will hit him. My son also plays up when they go out a few times they have had to stop what they are doing, if my wife takes them to the cinema and my son wants to leave he will start screaming and my wife has to take the kids out, my daughter gets upset and acts out at her mom and brother. Sometimes if they are at the park and my son suddenly wants to go home my daughter will refuse and my wife has to drag her out this leads to constant battles between my wife and daughter. My daughter also copies our son sometimes when she knows that what he has done is wrong, I don't know if she does it for attention. I feel like a lot of the time my wife is taking out her stress on our daughter. I tried mentioning it to her and she told me she was trying her best and it was easy for me to criticise because I am not there all day everyday. I see my daughter and wife's relationship and it isn't healthy. What should I do? Or what can my wife start doing to be more patient with our daughter ?
