  • Hi, My son has asked me to bake his birthday cake. I need to ask can I use new toy cars/ diggers as cake toppers? Or is there some protocol.?

Best answer: I have seen many cakes decorated with roadways or racetracks with toy cars on top. You may want to dip the cars in boiling water to kill any germs or maybe cut a small piece of wax paper to set them on while on the cake.

Best answer: If you have a neutral yet engaging gaming system like the Wii, you could have little competitions. Funny movies are good, but you really want something that has everyone moving and involved (with you and each other) so I would save that until the end. Cards Against Humanity is a hilarious card game, although its pretty explicit so I dont know if your parents would allow it. You could play a game outside like kick the can, touch football or even tag; it sounds lame up front I know but with everyone interacting together and blood flowing, it'll be a good time. You could also do relay races and stuff like that for prizes. I'm 25 so most of my parties involve lots of alcohol but we still really enjoy that kind of stuff over standing around inside. People don't want to do the same things that they could be doing at home. If you have a foosball table, pool table or anything like that, use It!

One party on a weekend night will not ruffle too many feathers with your neighbors. If you neighbors are a bunch of college age people then no problem if your neighbors aren't college age people than I would make sure the party leaves your house at 10pm.

Make sure people car pool there or take taxi preferably as you don't want a bunch of random cars in the parking lot. If you are in a college town these parties are expected just never make a habit of it and only do it on weekends

  • Would you recommend one glove or two?

Best answer: I'm voting one - for most grilling it makes the most sense. You would still want the agility of an un-gloved hand. About the only thing I can think of where you might want two is if he does a lot of rotisserie cooking - then it's really nice to be able to pick up that giant metal rod that's 500+ degrees! show more
